The treasures that we hold dear live deep within our hearts.

As a child, I was fortunate and blessed to experience unconditional love from my aunts. My memories are still alive and joy-filled. The beauty and love of a child are unimaginable. As a child, I idealized these women. They could do no wrong. When I was feeling down, they knew how to make me laugh and gave me hope. I would watch them with their relationships with their children and know that I was a lucky little girl. As grown-ups, they would have their own inner conflicts. Sometimes this would create division, and other times forgiveness and healing. Of course, each of us would navigate to an Aunt that might understand us on a soul level. As an Adult being an aunt is an incredible experience. I have experienced the privilege of watching my nieces and nephews grow and evolve into beautiful mature human beings. I have held their hands while crossing the street. Placed bandaids and kisses on bruised and bloody knees and held them tight as they experienced their own inner conflicts offering hope and love along the way.

On October 2nd, my niece Stephanie will marry the love of her life, Mike. I am delighted that I will be able to celebrate this important milestone in her life. After almost two years of Covid, having the ability to celebrate with family and friends will be a gift. On this same day, I will remember with love and Gratitude one of my favorite Aunt's, Mary A. It will be the first anniversary of her death. I can't think of a better way to celebrate the gift of her life. She was an amazing woman, creative and dynamic.

Yes, it is bittersweet that these two celebrations should happen on the same day. Yet they are celebrations of life and family. With Gratitude, I will celebrate the gift of my Aunt's life and the excitement of a new beginning for my beautiful niece and soon-to-be nephew.

It is important to celebrate all life! I will lift a glass of Gratitude and thanksgiving on October 2nd for two remarkable women in my life.

Have a beautiful week. My next blog will be the weekend of the 9th and 10th.

This week's affirmations will focus on new beginnings!
