Let it Go

I was reminded on Sunday when listening to the song. Let it Go of the importance of beginning a new year free and clear of old baggage. Of course, that is one of the most challenging things for us to do. It means that we may have to let go of people places and issues that may be unresolved. "I am never going back. The past is in the past" is an essential line in the song. We often relive over and over in our minds things that are unresolved from moments in our past. We try to think of how the outcome could have been different. Maybe it is just a lesson of how we can love ourselves and others more fully by accepting who they are in the present moment. When we live in the past, we miss the present moment and all the opportunities that await us.

When we begin a new year, we always take the essence of who we are, our fears, and the beauty of our souls.

When I heard the line "It's funny how some distance Makes everything seem small, And the fears that once controlled me can't get to me at all," I realized the importance of facing my fears without judgment. But if we allow some distance from the part of life that brings forth our fear, we will have the time to allow ourselves to experience healing. The earth is a healing presence, and she is alive and healing herself. Living in the present moment in reflection can offer us healing. If we are open to receiving love freely offered, miracles can abound.

Maybe the goal for this year is to allow our higher selves to show us the beauty within and allow the spark to ignite into a flame that will transform us into the love essence we are.

Happy New Year!
