A few weeks ago, I became slightly fearful, then later realized that I let my imagination create possible doomsday scenarios. I work in a small Doctor's office as a Greeter. A person came In for their scheduled visit earlier in the week. Two days later, this person was in again. They had reported to someone on the staff that their friend had the Coronavirus, so this person was concerned that they might. This person was hesitant about taking the test. In short, neither one had the Coronavirus but a cold with similar symptoms. I was fearful for many reasons. I later realized that my fear was based on all of the stories the media had been reporting. How many of you have ever had the flu, bronchitis, measles, the mumps? Did you recover? Did you heal? Our bodies are brilliant machines. Our bodies know how to fight the germs that enter our systems.
We have been hearing and reading news that is promoting fear within our hearts. This fear can then impact our daily lives and how we treat our neighbors. Yes, there is uncertainty. Life, at best, is a mystery. If we allow ourselves to live in fear, we will wither and die, having lived miserable and unfulfilled lives.
We are in the midst of a significant transformation. This transformation is much bigger than what we experienced in the '60s and '70s. Confidence is the opposite of fear. What makes you feel confident? Confidence is a feeling that comes from within. Do you believe that the transformation we are experiencing will bring about new positive change? We are the change. Each of us must make a choice based on our experiences. Each of us have experienced rejection, loss, and some type of discrimination at some point in our lives. How did the experience change you? Did it make you fight harder for change? Or did the pain of your experience close down your heart from any feeling at all? Confidence is
"a feeling of self-assurance arising from one's appreciation of one's own abilities or qualities."
Be confident with the knowledge you have. When you read or watch TV, do it with Confidence that what you hear or read maybe a piece of the truth, and if you question something that is said, do more research. Education is a life long learning for all of us.
This week's affirmations will focus on Confidence! Blessings to you all!
